Women Are Surgeons – Produced in collaboration with the National Institute of Health (24 mins). Encourages young girls to enter the field of surgery.

Three Firsts: Women Pioneers In American Surgery (55 mins) Documents the lives and careers of three women pioneers in American surgery: Alma Dea Morani, MD, the first female plastic/reconstructive surgeon, Nina Starr Braunwald, MD, the first female cardiac surgeon and a deputy NIH director, and Olga Jonasson, MD, a leader in the American College of Surgeons and the first female chair of an academic department of surgery.

National Women’s History Museum (NWHM)

AWS is a member of the NWHM National Coalition, a group of national, predominantly women’s organizations that support the mission of the NWHM to illuminate “the role of women in transforming society and [encouraging] all people, women and men, to participate in democratic dialogue about our future.” There was no financial obligation in AWS joining the Coalition.
